Class 4 (Beech) have been witness to some strange 'going ons' around their school! Yes - UFOs were spotted, crashed and called out to fellow aliens!
As a result, they wrote a newspaper report about the incident and then recorded witness statements and performed as a 'real' newsreader for FX News!
They had great fun producing their videos and I'm sure you will agree when you watch their news report, that they all did superbly well.

School trip - our Stone Age experience. We learned about why we need shelter to protect us from the elements. We started by finding natural shelter and then progressed on to building a shelter using natural materials such as sticks and rocks. For our 'modern day version', we used other materials like tarps and ropes including various designs to make a tipi.
Our Stone Age experience - 'Gathering'. We looked at how early people would forage for edible plants and use fire to cook. We learned how fire was made using friction and flint and some of us had a go at making FIRE! Once the campfire was successfully lit, we all had a go at making and cooking bread using seasonal foraged ingredients, for example, wild garlic. YUM!! We also learned how early people started farming to produce flour from wheat.
Our Stone Age experience - HUNTING! We looked at the problem early people had of catching animals to eat. We looked at the development of weapons from rocks and sticks to bow and arrows. We used weapons from natural materials and practiced or 'spear throwing' skills by aiming at targets.
Our Stone Age experience - HUNTING (part 2). We then progressed on to using a bow and arrow. Again we discussed why early people developed farming of animals to avoid the need to hunt.
