Beech Class this year!

This half term we will be immersing ourselves in Ross Mckenzie's 'The Nowhere Emporium'. We will explore a range of writing techniques to create action, suspense, mystery and of course magic!

This term we will focus on number, embedding our use of different methods, revising our place value knowledge and securing our multiplication table facts.

This half term, our science unit will focus on thermal insulation. We will be exploring different materials and trying to find the best ones to keep an ice lolly cold and a jacket potato warm!

In Geography, we are finding out about volcanoes and earthquakes. We will look at what volcanoes are, how they are formed, the different types and the effects they have on our environment. We will then look at what an earthquake is, how they happen and why. You will choose a historic earthquake to research and present to the rest of the class.

In RE we are exploring 'The Journey through Life'. We will look at and discuss our own journey's so far and the possibilities for the future.
