Welcome to Benjamin Hargreaves CE VA Primary School 

On behalf of all the staff and governors we want to welcome you to Benjamin Hargreaves CE VA Primary School. 

We aim to provide high quality of teaching and learning so that all children reach their full potential.

Our strong Christian ethos helps our pupils to develop in their spiritual, moral, social and cultural education.

We offer a wide range of opportunities and experiences and strive to engage and challenge all pupils in a safe and caring environment. 

Staff, Governors and pupils value our close links with St Paul's Church and the wider community and great importance is placed on working with parents/carers.

The School Day

The school opens at 8.45am.

Morning Registration is at 8.55am.

Lunch is between 12.00 noon and 12.55pm.

Afternoon registration is 1.00pm.

The school closes at 3.25pm.

Our school week is 32.5 hours.

Punctuality is a very important life skill which School endeavours to foster amongst our pupils. Pupils arriving later than 8.55 a.m. will not be able to enter the playground as the gates are locked; entry can only be gained through the Main Entrance. Pupils arriving between 8.55 a.m. and 9.30 a.m. or 12.55 and 1.30 p.m. will receive a late mark in the register. Pupils arriving after 9.30 a.m. or 1.30 p.m. will be registered with an ‘unauthorised’ late’.  All unauthorised absences are reported to the Governing Body and the Local Authority. There is a 15 minute morning and a 10 minute afternoon break for all pupils.
