English and Writing - Class 2:

This half term we are reading The Bear And The Piano and exploring lots of exciting writing opportunities around this text!

In Wandle Fluency lessons, the Year 2 children will be reading Blaise and Flint.

The Year 1 children will continue to learn new phonemes and develop their reading with daily phonics lessons.

Phonics helps with our reading and spelling, Year 2 will also be having daily Spelling Shed lessons and can access this at home! Please see the link under the Spelling Shed picture to the right for a list of words being covered this year.

In Maths we will be looking at Place Value and learning skills linked to addition and subtraction.

PE and Music!

In PE we are learning about dance and reviewing and developing our fundemental skills to help us with our lessons throughout the year. During Music we are learning about how music is structured, linknig this to myths and legends.

In Science ae are exploring what humans need to move and grow, lining our learning to healthy food choices and exercise.

During History we are learning about important people who changed our world, including Rosa Parks and David Attenborough.

Our RE Quest!

This half term we are going on a quest to leanr about creation. Initially we are thinking about the Christian beleifs linked to this before we decide if we are going to explore another world faith - Hinduism or Islam!
